Trail Description

ebike allowed or not caveat

 E-bikes NOT allowed on River

The River Trail within Smith Rock State Park is a very scenic and popular hiking trail that allows bikes. There is a massive amount of foot traffic here, so make sure to yield to hikers and ride at non-peak times of the day/week. This is often ridden as part of a longer loop around Smith Rock or Grey Butte.

Nice trail for winter ride. Some ice puddles here and there, but mostly firm dirt.

  4. Sharon Campbell

Good condition. A few wet spots. The last 0.2 mile of trail is muddy, near the Misery Ridge intersection. Not busy. I ran the trail today. No bikers on the trail today. Only hikers and trail runners were on the trail.

  5. Natalie Herse

A little soft sand remains where the trail had been under water but otherwise perfect.

  6. Jeff Johnston

Trails was great 3/19 except for a 100 yd section that was flooded due to the river rising. We were able to hike a bike to higher ground, and get back on the trail without too much trouble.

  7. Brandon Crummett

River trail was perfect this morning. Trail was either frozen or hero dirt. I hit it at the crack of dawn to ride in the lower temps and to avoid a potential mud fest. The plan worked… SCORE!!!
