Bend Trails is a community resource for mountain bikers in Bend, Oregon, covering trail conditions, photos, and maps for the singletrack systems around Central Oregon — from Phil's Trail Complex to the Sisters area to Waldo Lake and beyond.
This site is a restoration of the original BendTrails.org, which was launched in 2013 and became the go-to resource for Bend-area mountain bikers looking for up-to-date trail conditions and community reports. The original site ran until 2026 and was built and maintained by a small team of local riders who loved these trails.
After the original site went offline, its HTML and images were preserved by the Internet Archive (Wayback Machine). This restoration was built from those archived snapshots with deep gratitude to the Internet Archive and to everyone who contributed reports, photos, and trail knowledge over the years.
Trail route geometry is sourced from OpenStreetMap contributors and is used under the Open Database License (ODbL). If you improve trail data in OpenStreetMap, those improvements will benefit this map too.
Basemap tiles are rendered from OpenStreetMap data © OpenStreetMap contributors, served by tile.openstreetmap.org.
Condition reports are submitted by community members and moderated before appearing on the site. Reports describe current riding conditions — whether trails are dry and flowy, muddy, snowy, or otherwise. To submit a report, visit any trail page and use the form at the bottom.
Historical reports were imported from the original BendTrails.org comment threads and represent years of community knowledge about local conditions.
Trail photos were archived from the original BendTrails.org. If you are a photographer whose work appears here and would like it removed, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.
This site is not affiliated with the original BendTrails.org operators unless they choose to get in touch — in which case, hi! We'd love to help hand this back to you.
If you are a copyright holder and would like content (photos, text, or anything else) removed from this site, please open an issue on the project repository or contact the maintainer via the address in the repository. We will respond promptly and remove the content.
The best way to contribute is to submit trail condition reports from the field. If you have trail knowledge, corrections, or bug reports for the site itself, contributions are welcome via the project repository.
This site is built as a Cloudflare Worker using Hono, MapLibre GL JS, and Cloudflare D1 / R2 for storage. Trail data processing uses Python and the OpenStreetMap Overpass API.
