Trail Description

ebike allowed or not caveat

E-bikes NOT allowed on Maiden Peak

Beginning at the Gold Lake Road, the Maiden Peak Trail winds up one switchback and then begins a gradual ascent on a moderate grade while offering views of the immediate countryside. After about 1.7 miles the trail crosses Skyline Trail and reaches the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail approximately 300 feet later. A short distance from here, it goes through some flats and then begins to climb to the top. The route climbs steeply at first and then more gradually traverses the slope.

Continuing through some rocky areas and past small ponds, it begins to climb at a steep grade again. After passing through a small meadow, the trail levels off. As it approaches the east flank of the mountain, the trail turns and heads north up the south side, through rubble rock. After passing a small crater on the left, the trail follows a ridge to the top of the mountain. The trail then descends to the east side and continues on to the Deschutes National Forest.
