Trail Description

ebike allowed or not caveat

 E-bikes NOT allowed on Heckletooth

Heckletooth is a seven-mile black diamond trail that’s best ridden as a shuttle or part of a forest road loop. Starting at the trailhead, you’re quickly into a very steep climb that most riders will need to push their bikes up, but once you get past that there’s an awesome view of the valley below before you descend one of the most technical trails in Oakridge. The trail has lots of exposure and you experience that right out of the gate — the first rocky switchbacks are part of what makes this a true black diamond trail. After that, it’s back into the shady forest and down more steep rocky and rooty trail. Tight, narrow, fast, and twisty all the way to the bottom, you have to watch your speed because there are sudden corners with big consequences if you slide off the singletrack.
