Trail Description

ebike allowed or not caveat

E-bikes NOT allowed on Chucksney Mountain

Chucksney Mountain is often ridden as an extension to the Grasshopper trail ride. The trail starts from Grasshopper with a moderate climb up the ridge of Chucksney Mountain. Before starting your decent you can hike up to the top of the mountain for some amazing views inside a lovely meadow.

From there it’s a good descent down to the intersection with Grasshopper again.

This is riding great ! Tried it a few years ago and it was miserable with constant deadfall. It’s all been cleared now (saw report from Oakridge trail association that they worked on it a month ago). Now there’s no excuse for getting off your bike on some of those steep sustained climbs on the loop :) There are a few ‘erosion trough’ hike-a-bikes where water flows have destroyed the tread

Beautiful trail that has a great climbing grade (much easier than going up Grasshopper). Unfortunately it has lots of deadfall. I counted 77 downed trees today, of varying shapes and sizes.
